Pantagonia Re-Tool Snap-T Pullover Review-A Case of the Blues…

(All opinions are my own and have not been influenced by any additional outside sources.)

The cold weather and snow are still sticking around, so I’m sharing one of my recent favorite fleece pullovers to wear this winter. This was the first item that I have purchased from Pantagonia and I must say that I highly recommend it!

This pullover comes in many colors and is quite soft and retains warmth. I love that it’s not bulky and the front pocket is great for storing your keys, chapstick, or phone if you are out running errands. I prefer throwing on a fleece over wearing a jacket on any given day.

This light blue color can brighten up any gloomy gray, snowy day. Sometimes the cold weather has a way of bringing me down. I’ve paired my polish here to match my outfit. The nail color that I’m wearing is by Sally Hansen-Miracle Gel-649-Flash-ionista!

What warm weather outerwear do you recommend to stay warm on these cold days?

Spring and Summer Fashion Trends

A few months ago when it was cold and dreary, I started looking at some Spring fashion trends that will also fit right into Summer. Most of these trends were seen in magazines such as: Vogue, Allure, InStyle, and Elle.

Here’s what I found to be popular in the upcoming Spring and Summer seasons.

  • Stripes-Vertical or Horizontal. Wear them however you like.

  • Metallic and Sparkle-This is one I’m excited about! Who doesn’t love to sparkle and shine now and then!

  • Graphic Prints-Graphics can be so much fun! I am loving graphic print tee shirts! Show off your mood or personality by wearing one!

  • Florals-Flower Power! Florals are being seen everywhere! Shirts, shorts, shirts. You name it, and they are blooming on clothes everywhere you look!

  • Jumpsuits and Rompers-I will say I have a hard time finding jumpsuits that I can pull off, but last year, I did manage to find one. If you find one that fits your style-Rock It! The one I found makes me look taller and it is navy and white. I feel very nautical while wearing it. Rompers are simple and fun! I also only have one currently. I have long legs, so a lot of times I have a hard time finding one that fits comfortably.

  • Hide and Seek Cut-Outs-You can still look classy and show a little skin. Just make sure more is covered than not when going out in public.

  • Ruffles, Lace, Bows, Flowy Sleeves, and Ribbons-Get ready for romance! Some of these styles are a bit bold. I like how fun and flirty they look on. These styles are definitely one on the higher trend list that I am sometimes afraid that I can’t pull off. I do have a few pieces from previous years that still fit these trends that I will wear from time to time. I have to be feeling bold and confident that day to be wearing them though.

  • Leather Fringing-Fringe is fun! I think it adds a sexy touch to anything!

  • Statement Earrings-Bring on the glamour! Statement earrings will dress up anything that you have on. I especially like statement earrings that are light weight. I can’t wear anything that feels too heavy.

  • Ginghem-Black and white ginghem seems to be popular this season.

  • Joggers-Time to get comfy! Joggers are great to relax in and perfect for the weekend!

  • ADIDAS-The old school ADIDAS shoes that I wore when I was younger are now back on the market and being sold. If you are wearing those ever so popular three striped shoes, consider yourself trendy!

  • Off the Shoulders-Love, Love, Love this trend! I think it’s sexy, flirty, and romantic all in one! Off the shoulder shirts are just gorgeous!

  • Cacti, Lemons, Bees, Flamingos, Pineapples, Nautical, and Tassels-These are a few of my favorite things! What is not to love?! These are just fun and simple. They add some excitement to any outfit!

Here are a few items that I found in some of my favorite categories above.  What are some of your favorite trends for spring and summer?

Pretty in Pink-Valentine’s Day Weekend Nails

This past week, I decided to go “Pretty in Pink” as the choice of my nail color since it was the week before Valentine’s Day. An affordable brand of nail color is Sally Hansen or NYC (New York Nail Color). This week, I used three nail polishes. First, I used Sally Hansen-Hard as Nails-Extreme Wear Nail Color in 115-Tickled Pink. I painted four fingers leaving my ring finger plain. On my ring finger, I painted it in Sally Hansen-Hard as Nails-Extreme Wear Nail Color in 219-Strobe Light. One of my favorite quotes is: “She leaves a little sparkle wherever she goes,” therefore I was in the mood for a little sparkle on my ring finger! I let my nails dry for about 15 minutes before applying a second coat of polish. Once that dried, I topped them off with NYC (New York Nail Color) in 271-Extra Shiny Top Coat.

Pucker Up! It’s Valentine’s Day Weekend

Here are some of my favorite shades of lip color that I have been loving this month for the Valentine holiday! These reds and pinks are great when you want to brighten up a dreary day! If you are a babe on a budget, like myself, one of my favorite go to makeup brands is Maybelline. I use many of their products.

These lipsticks are all from Maybelline. In order, you will see:

  • 895-On Fire Red (Bright Red Lips)

  • 875-Vivid Rose (Bright Pink Lips)

  • 565-Almond Rose (Pinkish/Purple Matte Lips)

  • 450-Romantic Rose (Soft Pinkish/Purple Lips-I’ve been wearing this color a lot lately.)

  • 005-Pink Sand (Light Pink Lips)

Nailed It!  My Thought on Matte Nails…

Recently, I have been seeing a lot of pretty matte nail colors for Fall.  As the seasons change from Fall into Winter, I am a huge fan of darker nail colors.  I wanted to try something a little more bold and out of my comfort zone, so I purchased, Sally Hansen-Hard as Nails-Xtreme Wear-Mellow Yellow. (As seen below)  I thought this golden nail color was worth a try.

As much as I would love to get weekly manicures, for the girl on a budget (like myself) that just isn’t possible, so I frequently trim and polish my own nails.  While browsing the many shades of nail polish, I came across Revlon’s-Transforming Effects-Matte Top Coat. (As seen below)  Due to my love of darker nails for the next few months, I thought this may be a fun twist and worth purchasing.

Here is the process that I used to paint my nails and get the “Matte” look!

  1. I painted my nails with a clear base coat. (Let dry)

  2. Next, I added a coat of polish. (Let dry) Once dried, I added the second coat of polish for a bolder color. (Let dry)

  3. Last, it was time for the “Matte” test! I painted the matte top coat on top of the dried polish and within minutes, I could see my shiny golden nails turn into matte golden nails!

I love this product!  Instead of buying a color that you like in a shiny color and one similar in a matte color, all you have to do is top the color you have with this matte top coat.  You can get two textures by only purchasing one nail polish!  I’m looking forward to using this product with the other nail polish colors that I already own!
